Assignment #5 - Color Portraits
This is my great Uncle Roy who is very dear to me. In this picture I told him to think about when his first biological child was born.
This is someone who I did not know, my roommates cousin, Savannah and her favorite thing to do is shop, and there was no better way to put her, other than her element.
This is me, definitely NOT being me. A couch potatoe. I never want to become one of these.
This portrait assignment taught me to get to know people more intimately and know their back stories and know exactly who they are. It helped me to step out of my comfort zone and try to picture someone else's world, or being a part of their world.

Assignment #4 - Color Theory

Analogous
Analogous colors are everywhere even when you don't realize it. I learned alot about how to create a scene in which complimentary colors and analogous colors can be. White balance helped alot with this project, but I have to admit it was difficult trying to think of different set ups that could be creative and flow with the colors at the same time. But I learned alot about how to set up colors and how colors can work together.

Assignment #3 - High key/Low key

high key (what made the camera happy)

low key (what made the camera happy)

Wow. I never thought it would be difficult to get an image perfectly black or perfectly white, and it was. Turns out that if the camera says its happy, it may not be the perfect tone that you want it to be. I learned that there are many ways in which you can represent black and white that I thought of throughout this process. I also learned that even through a pure white image and a pure black image, I can tell a story in my own way.

Assignment #1 - Scavenger Hunt

I learned that my hands need to be more steady and I really want my pictures of people to come out better. I'm still experimenting with lightroom and trying to understand it, but it helps. Hopefully I can get to the point where I don't have to change much on an image from when I took it. I know that I can get better with practice and I'm determined to be better. I also loved going out and just looking around and seeing the different things I could find because it's opened my mind to a new way of looking at things.
